We woke up feeling pretty tired after a really good nights sleep. By this point in our walk, we don't care what the cows, farmers or each other think about what we look like so after getting dressed we discovered that Jenny looked like a gangsta with a baseball cap, vest top and board shorts, Leanne looked like Lily Allen with a dress, football shorts and trainers and Emily looked like she hadn't changed out of her pyjamas!
We filled ourselves up on a really good continental breakfast from the hotel owner, who seemed to find our lack of French communication skills rather funny. Then he waved us off with an offer of complimentary bananas for the journey.
After a little look around a quaint market full of horse themed attire, bubble machines and a fresh fish stall that pulled on our heart strings reminding us of home, we set off at 11am in the 33 degree heat- knowing that it was only going to get hotter.
We walked along our road to nowhere to a walking karaoke session where we took it in turns to sing the chorus of.. every song we knew! This game went on for about 3 hours and before we knew it we were half way there and had very hoarse voices- Leanne even sang 'Eye of the Tiger'!
About 3/4 of the way there, we realised that our one long road had branched off and we were on the wrong branch- but we didn't complain as it meant walking in a different direction and evening out our dodgy one sided tan lines!
We finally arrived in the town and hobbled around looking for our b&b. It is very lovely however we are in a really small town and food and water is scarce. Care packaged needed ASAP as there is nowhere for dinner so we are surviving off of hot chocolate with rich teas and chocolate!
Mood: Like aching pop stars
Power songs:
I need a hero- Thanks for the suggestion James
Kemal Ahmed- Suspicious minds karaoke special
Plus the chorus of every song we know
Small print: if anyone wants a shout out on our next blog, sing us a song or send in a request.
Emily, Jenny and Leanne x
