The event we held couldn't hve gone more smoothly, with lovely blue skies and lots of fun! We made £440 profit, bringing us ever closer to the final goal! We never realised how much work went into events like this- but we all had a well deserved celebratory drink afterwards and seeing the end result made it worth it!!
The walk is getting extremely close now and we are bumping up our training sessions to get as fit as we have to be and buying all of the equipment we are going to have to take.
We have also contacted Sutton Railway Station to do a cake sale there one morning to raise money to fund the walk as the hotels, eurostar, ferry etc are proving to be rather expensive!
Our fundraising total is at about £2700 at the moment- with about another £500 pledged but not collected yet! So we are extremely close to the total and are hoping that when we complete the walk we will actually have raised more than we expected for our four wonderful charities.
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped us out with the event we held; we had people behind the bar, helping with food, selling raffle tickets, taking photos and doing the music and also Terry for donating the venue and all the local shops and businesses who donated the great raffle prizes!
