Ashtead Station Bake Sale

We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all the commuters and travelers that came through Ashtead station this morning. Thanks to all your generous donations towards our cake sale, we managed to raise a whopping £287!!!

We had an epic baking day yesterday, Leanne made over 100 Cup Cakes, Emily made 45 Cookies, 2 Victoria Sponges and Millionaire Shortbread and I made 20 Brownies, 26 Flap Jacks and 30 Butterfly cakes, a Coffee Cake and a Fruit Loaf (With help from my Nan!) Needless to say, our houses smelt pretty amazing! Our friend Lauren very kindly made us a batch of White Chocolate Brownies - Thanks Lauren!

Despite the unbelievably grim weather, we arrived at the station just before 6am to put posters up and set up our cake stall next to the coffee man, Adrian. We had soooo many cakes it didn't seem like we were ever going to shift them! Throughout the morning people were taking an interest in what we were doing, many donating us money but not wanting cakes! By 9:45 over 3/4 of the cakes had gone!

Overall, the whole morning was a total success going far better than we had anticipated. Most of the cakes gone, £287 up and that bit closer to our £4000 goal. Thank you Ashtead Station!

  1. May i post my Congratulations to you all in your most worthy endevours. As an Ex Serviceman, the Help for Heroes is a Charity close to my Heart.May i politely suggest that you contact the Royal British Legion, who i am sure would be very interested in your London to Paris walk and would certainly publiscise your good works to a much larger audience..I would be very interested in your proposed route from LOndon to Paris,as i am a Historian of both World Wars, and you will be walking in France where the Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers of many of todays wounded Heroes fought and in many cases made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today..With all best wishes..Russ G.
