22.5 Mile Walk from Ashtead to Big Ben!

Last Tuesday, Leanne, Emily, Stephanie (Emily's Sister) and myself  walked 22.5 miles from Ashtead all the way to Big Ben in Westminster, London. It took as about 8 and a half hours including breaks which we were really pleased with.

The route we took (courtesy of Google Maps) was mainly on pavements which is the sort of surface we will be walking on to Paris, so it is good to get our legs used to it! We started in Ashtead, walked through Chessington and then turned right at Hook roundabout and walked down the A3 towards Tolworth. In Tolworth we walked via Tolworth Superfish to collect £121 that customers have very kindly donated - Thank You Tolworth!
We then continued down the A3 towards New Malden where we couldn't resist a quick Krispy Kreame Doughnut for lunch to replenish energy levels! We trekked on through Richmond Park, which was far more scenic than the grey buildings we had been walking past for the last few hours, and towards Putney. We managed to avoid the dodgy whether up until now! :-/
After what seemed like hours of walking through Chelsea we finally arrived in Westminster and were so unbelievable pleased to see The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben! We felt like we had made a massive achievement so cannot wait to see what it will be like in August when we reach the Eiffel Towel.

The fitness and conditioning continues - Slightly easier walk around Richmond Park on Sunday :)
